2026 Buick Envision vs 2026 Acura RDX in Lisle, IL

When you’re in the market for a luxury compact SUV, you’re bound to come across several options. One you should consider is the 2026 Buick Envision. To give you an idea of how it stacks up against other premium vehicles, we’re going to compare it to the 2026 Acura RDX. Learn from us at Bill Kay Buick GMC why the Buick is the better choice.

Engineering

As you drive through Lisle in the Buick Envision, you’ll have 228 horsepower and 258 lb.-ft. of torque to use. It comes from the standard 2.0L turbocharged 4-cylinder engine at the heart of that model’s powertrain. The Acura RDX arrives with a bit more raw power with 272 horsepower1 and 280 lb.-ft. of torque1 from its standard 2.0L turbocharged 4-cylinder unit. However, the Buick model is more economical, bringing an EPA-estimated 22/28/25 MPG city/hwy/combined2 fuel efficiency rating while the Acura lags behind with a 21/27/23 MPG city/hwy/combined3 gas economy level. These vehicles do share some qualities, such as both having standard AWD. Also, each compact SUV has a 1,500-lb. maximum towing capacity4,5 that will enable you to transport a small utility trailer along I-88.

Interior

As with most compact luxury SUVs, the 2026 Buick Envision and the Acura RDX both have standard seating for five passengers. The Buick model does provide a bit more space for those in the rear seat, a total of 39.3 inches of legroom compared to the 38.0 inches in the Acura. When you’re looking at the material that covers the seats, you’ll find standard leatherette trim for both models. Another similarity between the two vehicles is that they both provide standard multicolor interior ambient lighting that is perfect for setting the mood when you’re on your way to Baumgartner-Gilbert Stadium. You will also get the added benefit of a standard driver’s seat memory system in each vehicle, giving the pilot the chance to save their preferred settings for future use.

Technology

The Envision pulls far ahead of the Acura when it comes to the array of tech features. For example, the RDX provides a standard 10.2-inch HD dual-content center display and the standard 7.0-inch multi-information display. Yet, the Buick has a standard Ultrawide 30.0-inch diagonal premium monitor. In addition to having a bigger screen space, it also provides a standard Head-Up Display6, a tool that is only available on higher trims of the RDX. Looking at the capabilities of the Buick, you’ll see that it has standard Google Built-in compatibility7. That feature is not available on the Acura model at all. Finally, both compact SUVs have a standard 9-speaker sound system, but the RDX uses a set from its manufacturer, while the Buick sources its kit from Bose®8, a brand renowned for its tremendous quality. Although the two compact luxury SUVs have some points where they overlap, the superior efficiency and tech materials of the 2026 Buick Envision make it the better option.
